The "State Key Laboratory of Beer Biological Fermentation Engineering" built by Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd. officially passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Science and Technology and became the only national key laboratory in the field of biological fermentation.

The laboratory construction application was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in January 2010. For more than three years, the laboratory has carried out research on cutting-edge, common and major key technologies in the three directions of yeast strain modification and performance optimization, flavor control technology, and key brewing technologies, focusing on the major needs of the development of the modern beer industry. There are a total of 14 scientific research projects such as the national "973" plan and "863" plan, and have won many provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards.
